Today’s quick tip is one I used recently when creating a stencil from vinyl. I had a ton of little dots to weed away. Weeding isn’t the problem — it’s what to do to corral all those little pieces once they are off. My solution? A lint roller!
It’s great because it sticks to your table. Once you weed a dot, just tap it onto the roller. It grabs and holds them. As it fills up, roll it so there’s a new blank area. Once it’s full all the way around, rip off and toss the sheet and start a new one.
Lint roller for the win! If you’d like to see what I was making, check out this post.
By the way — I have heard that some folks use a lint roller to grab the little pieces straight off the vinyl. I’ve done that before, but this time it wasn’t working. It may be that my lint roller was too sticky. I’ll try that again another time and report back if I have success.
